The Supreme Court Washington, DC

While supervising my son's field trip, we saw Clarence Thomas and a couple other judges! They had it roped off, but court was in session that day. Hours: 9 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday except Federal Holidays.  There is a snack bar, but it closes earlier than the building. 10:30 -12:15 PM and 1:15-3:30 PM.  Gift shop also closes a bit early: 9 AM - 4:25 PM There are public restrooms, phones and vending machines as well.  The building is located at 1 First Street NW across from the Capitol Building. Parking is very limited; best to park far away and trolley or metro in.  Metered parking available on side streets a block or more away. It is possible to see some of the Justices walking about; there is a lecture series daily and seating is limited.  Come early.  Other things to see in the building include the architecture and some artwork (portraits of the Justices etc).
