Kazakhstan Independence Statue Washington, DC

 

The monument, standing 13 feet high, is cast in bronze and depicts a young warrior astride a winged snow leopard. It's located at 1401 16th Street NW at the Kazakhstan Embassy. 

     President Nazarbayev, the first President of the fairly new democratic country of Kazakhstan, unveiled the monument in September 2006.  The plaque reads: "The Monument of Independence of Kazakhstan. - This monument, depicting a young warrior soaring on a winged snow leopard, symbolizes many centuries of the nations history and a modern Kazakhstan striving for it's future."  

This is a free attraction.
