Old Point Comfort Lighthouse, Hampton, VA

Old Point Comfort Lighthouse is located on Fort Monroe, in Hampton, VA.  It's a small lighthouse on Fort Monroe.  It's the second oldest lighthouse of the Chesapeake Bay area.  The tower is 54 feet high.  It has has a 12 second flashing light with red and white sectors.   During the War of 1812, the British captured the Fort and used the Lighthouse as an observation post. A keeper's house was built in 1891.  That replace the older house which had been build in 1823. The US Coast Guard now owns the Lighthouse.  The Keeper's house is used by a military family stationed at Fort Monroe.
