About the Elizabethan Gardens: Take a walk through an herb garden, trees and native plants, see a gazebo, some statuary and a fountain.  Nice place to stop and

smell the flowers and hear the birds chirping as well as hear the sound of the ocean. Small gift shop and a place to rest and drink a soda or buy a plant from the gardens on the way out.


Hours: Jan, Feb & Dec 10 AM - 4 PM, Mar & Nov 9 AM - 5 PM, Apr, May, Sep & Oct 9 AM - 6PM, Jun, Jul & Aug 9 AM - 8 PM, Monday - Saturday; 9 AM.-7 PM, Sundays

Closed New Years Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day

Cost: Adults $6.00  Seniors (age 62 and over) $ 5.00 Students (age 6-18) $4 Children (age 5 & under) Free Food/Beverages:  There are two soda machines at the exit, as well as a water fountain. Restrooms: Available at the exit of the gardens in a separate building.Wheelchairs: Wheelchair accessible. Shopping: Small Gift Shop Address: 1411 National Park Drive, Manteo, NC The Elizabethan Gardens is located on Roanoke Island within Fort Raleigh National Historic Site adjacent to Waterside Theatre, home of The Lost Colony

Recommendations:  No special needs here. Dress accordingly in hot or cool weather as there is a nice area outside to view the ocean and sit. Wear comfortable walking shoes; bottled water might be allowed into the gardens, but food is not. Short walking; nothing exerting.
