Tides played the Richmond
Braves. Tides won in the bottom of the 11th inning. We left at
the top of the 9th inning where it was tied, 4-4. We listened on the
way home and the game ended as we were turning up our street. Mike
Piazza (who was on rehab) was the big draw, but we couldn't get autographs
as we arrived just as the game was started. It ended so late and we
needed to beat traffic heading home. It was a good time though.
The park is nicely kept, the concessions were plentiful (but expensive).
They did have souvenir stands; there were giveaways for Pizza and other
things... traffic wasn't bad because we left early, but I hear it was pretty
bad at the end.

We attended this game June 30th,
2007 as part of a group thing with my husband's office. They rented out
the restaurant and gave all the employees a free dinner and ticket to the game.
It was ok. Beforehand, there was a Beatles Tribute Band; see the link to their
page I made and also their websites listed below. The Norfolk Tides played
the Syracuse Chiefs and won 1-3.
