 Hampton Bay Days Hampton, VA

Hampton Bay Days is an annual event that is to promote and educate learning about the bay and its creatures.  I personally didn't note much education, but I know they hold little things like crab races, Crab cook-off, Conservation exhibits, Virginia Living Museum Animal Show, VA Air and Space Center Exhibit, Busch Gardens Animal show, Iron Chef cook off, Essay Contest, Blackbeard Pirates crew roams the grounds and tells about Blackbeard the Pirate, 10k run, Arts and crafts, car and motorcycle show, Carnival rides, military exhibits, local businesses set up to sell you stuff, vendors sell you food and crafts, and fireworks.  We only attended the Charlie Daniels concert and we got a soda and I got a candy apple.  That's about it.  Not much for us to see and do there as all the stuff pretty much seemed to be people set up to sell you stuff.  We got there too late for the crab races and we don't like seafood so...

 Hampton Bay Days Hampton, VA

We went again to Hampton Bay Days.  This annual even features many bands, some other acts (jugglers or whatever), face painting, food vendors, other vendors (jewelry, art, tattoos, soap/candles, and the little shops in the area open their door and often put things outside.  There is also a carnival with rides and places to win stuffed animals.  Another thing to see if the car show.  This year we went to see "War" and "Grand Funk Railroad".  See pages for them below.  Bring lots of money to this event, good walking shoes, your own chairs for the concerts, and be prepared to use porta pottys.  It's very loud, so not good for small children.  Bring suncreen/sunglasses and if at night for the later concerts, a lightweight jacket or sweater might be advisable as it's near the ocean.  Also the Virginia Air and Space Center and the Hampton Carousel are across the street from the event.  As is St John's church and the Hampton History Museum.  I didn't find where that was located though.
