September 5th, 2010
American Music Fest VA Beach, VA
This was a small fee event; most of the concerts are free on beach for the Labor Day Holiday, all the other stages (7th, 13th, 17th, 24th, 25th and 31st etc) are always free but the 5th street stage events during American Music Fest are not free but cost somewhere between 10-25.00, which is actually a bargain. Parking costs nearly as much as the event.... It was sponsored by the city of Virginia Beach. American music fest hosts over 40 bands annually and a few headliners. This year we chose three of them: Pat Benter and REO Speedwagon. Other choices this year were the Village People, Gloria Gaynor , Dilbert McClinton, Max Weinberg, Chicago, War and a lot of other bands, national and local. We just didn't have the time and energy to drive that far and stay all day and go up and back along the strip to see more. We'd seen Chicago and War before (War twice) and thought that was enough. You had to actually pay for Gloria Gaynor and the Village people and Scott didn't think that was worth it. Pat and her band played at the 5th street stage which is the largest stage on September 3rd, 2010. Before them was a girl who sang by herself, but I did not get her name, so until I figure out who it was, I can't post the photos. The schedule said a singer's name, but it was a guy. So unless he had transgender surgery ... we may be going out to the festival again this year, depending who is playing, so in the meantime, enjoy the photos!
